Regensburg (dpa / lby) - SSV Jahn Regensburg is motivated before the end of the year in the 2nd round of the DFB Cup at SV Wehen Wiesbaden.

"After this exhausting week, we are really hoping that we will progress in the cup," said coach Mersad Selimbegovic before the game on Wednesday evening (8.45pm).

In view of the intensive schedule with the last one English week, the coach of the second division soccer team noticed that “one or the other has reached the limit, but that's normal”.

During the last rearing up before the short Christmas break, the Upper Palatinate team have to do without midfielder Benedikt Gimber (calf problems) and striker Charalambos Makridis (muscle damage).

Albion Vrenezi, on the other hand, can train again with a special mask after breaking his nose.

With Benedikt Saller (muscular problems) it is still unclear whether he can arise.

Selimbegovic expects against the third division club "as is so often the case in the cup, a game at eye level" with many duels.

With a win, the Jahn would reach the third round for the first time since 2004.
