Burgoberbach (dpa / lby) - In a head-on collision of two cars in Middle Franconia, a passenger was killed.

As the police reported, on Monday afternoon the 60-year-old driver, in whose car the 59-year-old was sitting, got into the opposite lane near Burgoberbach (Ansbach district) for reasons that have not yet been clarified.

The car crashed into an oncoming vehicle.

The person who caused the accident and the 50-year-old driver of the second car were injured in hospitals, and the rescue workers could not do anything for the passenger.

A dog also died in the trunk of the 60-year-old, and a second dog was taken to a veterinary clinic.

An expert should now clarify the cause of the accident.
