A trip organized in Turkey by the hairdresser from the village of Calamonte (Spain) turned into a real cluster.

Organized from December 6 to 8, the goal of the stay was for 19 Spaniards aged 30 to 50 to undergo cosmetic surgery with the installation of hair implants, reports

Eight days after their return, 29 cases of coronavirus were identified in this village of 6,200 inhabitants.

Sixteen of them were part of the group returning from Turkey.

During their journey, the 19 Spaniards had, as a precaution, chosen to travel by bus.

However, the driver was contaminated with Covid-19.

Three hundred contact cases

After their operation, they received antibiotic treatment.

The latter could have concealed the symptoms when they appeared, explained the health authorities.

Not feeling any symptoms on their return from Turkey, the travelers resumed their daily activities.

In total, 300 contact cases were identified in the village.

Measures had to be taken in the town: the celebrations which were to take place over the next few days have been canceled and businesses will close at 5 p.m.

The group of travelers admitted in a statement that it was not a trip "of vital importance" but assured that it had reported the stay to health authorities and complied with the health measures in force.

In the coming days, a major testing campaign will be carried out in the village.
