Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The state association of entrepreneurs' associations Rhineland-Palatinate (LVU) and the DGB have called for the training of young people despite the corona pandemic.

Companies should actively engage in post-placement services in order to fill vacancies, according to a joint statement published on Monday by LVU President Gerhard Braun and DGB Regional Director Dietmar Muscheid.

Both appealed to young people to look around the training market, to actively approach companies and to use the placement services of the employment agency.

Companies should also offer internship positions for career orientation.

The number of newly concluded training contracts in Rhineland-Palatinate fell by 8.2 percent this year, the statement said.

Even if the training year has already started, there are still open training positions and many young people who are looking.

Starting an apprenticeship is also possible in December and the following months and is not unusual in the Corona year.
