Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburg's Senator for Finance Andreas Dressel has called for Federal Economics Minister Peter Altmaier (CDU) to speed up December aid for companies affected by the lockdown.

According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, advance payments of the December aid should flow in early January at the latest.

As with the November aid, companies are initially to receive discounts of 50,000 euros, and solo self-employed persons of up to 5000 euros.

The federal government had decided on the billions in aid for companies from the catering sector, for example, which had to close their business operations because of the shutdown at the beginning of November.
