Erfurt (dpa / th) - In Thuringia, several hundred demonstrators took to the streets against the government's corona protective measures on Monday evening.

According to the police, around 670 people took part in 17 different so-called hygiene walks.

110 participants took part in the largest gathering in Weimar and 35 participants in a counter-demonstration, as the state police headquarters in Erfurt announced.

All rallies were largely uninterrupted.

To secure the registered meetings, the police were deployed with increased forces.

After Saxony, Thuringia is currently the state with the second highest infection rate with the corona virus. In the past seven days, there were a good 293 new infections for every 100,000 inhabitants.
