Jena (dpa / th) - According to the police, a 64-year-old from Jena was caught by a fraudster and lost 2000 euros.

The woman had received a friend request via a social network from a stranger who apparently came from England, the police reported on Monday.

After a lively exchange since the beginning of the month, the 64-year-old was finally asked to accept a package from Yemen that should contain several million US dollars.

To do this, she was asked to transfer 2000 euros to a German account.

The woman complied with this.

She was then written to again on Sunday evening. This time she was led to believe that the parcel was stuck at an airport in Turkey and that she could only trigger it by transferring another 6000 euros. Now the 64-year-old has become suspicious and has informed the police.
