The Director of Health Tourism Department at the Authority, Mohammed Al Muhairi, pointed out that, last year, Dubai achieved a growth in the number of health tourists at a rate of 4% compared to 2018, as their total number reached 350 thousand and 188 tourists, while their total expenditures on health care services amounted to about 727 million. The number of licensed health facilities in the authority reached nearly 3,400, of which 237 new facilities were licensed during the current year, including: 77 outpatient clinics, one hospital, 71 pharmacies, 13 rehabilitation centers, and a day surgery center.

The authority said that the UAE’s superiority in the efficiency of dealing with the pandemic and its achievement of the first place in the Middle East and the 14th in the world according to the Global Soft Power Index questionnaire issued by "Brand Finance" from Britain, will contribute effectively to enhancing the confidence of health and international tourists in the UAE as a safe destination for tourism and treatment.
