The white hand of the Qatar Red Crescent has extended to include a large number of countries, and Syria was at the forefront due to the difficult living and security conditions there, so its teams participated in the impartial monitoring program for the vaccination campaigns against polio in northern Syria.

Not only that, but the Qatar Red Crescent has implemented a program to "improve health information collection, analysis and management systems in northern Syria," funded by the Qatar Fund for Development, which aims to support and empower the health information system of health directorates and humanitarian organizations operating in northern Syria.

He also implemented a project to establish mobile psychiatric clinics in the north of the country, in partnership with the World Health Organization, with the aim of providing mental health services and integrated psychosocial support with appropriate cultural quality immediately and urgently for the displaced and internally displaced, residing in remote areas where these services are not available.

On the other hand, the Qatar Red Crescent announced the contribution of its representative mission in Yemen to the work of digging hand wells and rehabilitating water projects.

The project includes digging and deepening wells to provide clean water away from pollutants, while constructing reservoirs and water distribution points, building pumping rooms and providing them with solar energy systems.

Several regions in Yemen suffer from water scarcity, as United Nations indicators show that more than two-thirds of Yemenis - who are already suffering from poverty - cannot afford the costs of purchasing or delivering safe water.

Commenting on this, the Executive Director of the Qatar Red Crescent, Engineer Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Maliki, confirmed - in an interview with Al-Jazeera Net - that the year 2020 was a milestone for the Red Crescent, as it established its global leadership in the field of humanitarian work, and the circumstances that the whole world went through due to the pandemic Corona virus is nothing but strength and determination to face challenges and overcome difficulties.

Al-Maliki added that the medical sector played an important role in supporting the state’s efforts to confront the Corona virus, and “our white army sacrificed their time and effort tirelessly to serve the community’s children, ensure their safety and provide them with the necessary medical care.” We appreciated the role played by the volunteers.
