Ismaning (AP) - Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge suggested a public gesture by the French national soccer player after the spitting attack by Gladbacher Marcus Thuram.
"He would be well advised to make a donation for a charitable cause," said the CEO of FC Bayern on Sunday in Sport1- "Doppelpass".
The 23-year-old Thuram spat in the face of his opponent Stefan Posch in the 1: 2 against Hoffenheim on Saturday and saw the red card when the score was 1: 1.
“That is an absolute no-go”, criticized Rummenigge.
"I was wondering what would have actually happened if it had happened the other way around, the Posch had spat on the Thuram - then we would have another racism debate or what?"
Rummenigge was subsequently criticized for this rating on social media, he was accused of playing down racism.

Thuram has meanwhile apologized on social networks.
Rummenigge said that the club was operating damage limitation in order to keep the penalty from the DFB sports court as short as possible.
Thuram had done "gross nonsense" and understood that.
He saw the scene together with Leverkusen's sports director Rudi Völler on TV.
Both had spoken about the 1990 World Cup and Frank Rijkaard's spit attack against Völler.
But at least he only spat on him from behind, Völler told him.
