His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, inspected yesterday morning vital, academic and service projects in the city of Khorfakkan.

His Highness began his visit by inspecting the new academic projects and expansion of the University of Sharjah, Khorfakkan Branch, and examining the progress of work in buildings, classes and various facilities, directing His Highness to provide the optimal academic educational environment for students, in line with the development of the level reached by the university.

The new expansion, which was constructed on an area of ​​22,000 square meters, includes a number of buildings, classrooms, and educational and administrative facilities.

Then His Highness went to inspect tourism and entertainment projects, including the Khorfakkan Square Park project, which is located at the bottom of the Mount of the Resistance Monument, with an area of ​​163 thousand square meters.

His Highness toured the park, looking at its entertainment services and facilities, listening to His Highness about the development plans and the most prominent additional services.

Then His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah stopped to visit the resistance monument, which was built to commemorate the sacrifices of the people of Khorfakkan who made the most wonderful sacrifices in order to defend their city against the Portuguese invasion that took place in 1507. His Highness was informed of the future facilities and services of the monument building, including a rest and a restaurant for visitors and tourists, which It is built on an area of ​​393 meters and contains family sessions and a balcony equipped with sessions overlooking the general view of the city, and the hall is completely surrounded by glass to provide visual pleasure on the charming views of the city of Khor Fakkan.

The Resistance Monument building includes: a large hall with an area of ​​898 meters, which is divided into two halls, the largest of which can accommodate more than 40 spectators. Which used by the people of the city in their struggle against the Portuguese invasion.
