Thanks to Andy Delort, passer then scorer, Montpellier snatched a 2-2 draw in Brest on Sunday for the 16th day of Ligue 1 but missed the opportunity to overtake Marseille (4th) to settle at the foot of the podium.

At the Francis Le Blé stadium, the Montpellier took the advantage thanks to a tight cross from Delort catapulted to the back of the head by Gaëtan Laborde (45th + 1).

But Brest turned the tide thanks to Romain Philippoteaux (58th) then Brendan Chardonnet (82nd), before Delort appeared to clinch a draw with a powerful strike (82nd).

That's just one point taken in two matches for Michel Der Zakarian's team, beaten against all odds by Metz on Wednesday in La Mosson (2-0).

In the standings, the MHSC (5th) has 27 points, just behind Marseille (4th, 28 pts) which also shared the points on Saturday night against Reims (1-1) but has the advantage of being two matches behind.

The Hérault residents therefore find themselves under threat from Rennes (6th, 25 pts), traveling to Lorient on Sunday afternoon (5:00 p.m.).

And they remain at a distance from the podium before the weekend poster opposing Sunday evening Lille (32 pts) and Paris SG (31 pts) for the gain of the place of leader, temporarily occupied by Lyon (1st, 33 pts) who won Saturday in Nice (4-1).
