Berne (dpa / lni) - A 57-year-old driver was seriously injured in an accident on an icy road in Berne in the Wesermarsch district.

In a left curve, his car went off the road due to freezing moisture, broke through a hedge and rammed the wall of an uninhabited single-family house, the police said on Sunday.

The driver came to the hospital on Saturday.

The federal highway 212 was temporarily closed.

The building authority issued a ban on entering the house.

A little later there was another slippery road accident in Berne, the 49-year-old driver and his 46-year-old co-driver were uninjured.
