Unsurprisingly, the presidential party won

the legislative elections held at the end of November

.

The People's Movement for Progress wins 56 seats.

The Nouveau Temps pour la Démocratie (NTD), a member party of the alliance for the presidential majority, is one of the big winners of these legislative elections with 13 seats.

This gives President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré a comfortable majority in the hemicycle.

As in the presidential election, the Congress for Democracy and Progress (CDP) of Eddie Komboïgo comes second and recovers the cap of the leader of the opposition with its 20 deputies.

The UPC, the big loser in the legislative elections

The big losers in these legislative elections are first of all the Union for Progress and Change of Zéphirin Diabré.

From 33 deputies in 2015, the UPC must be satisfied with 12 seats.

This is one of the consequences, of the multiple crises that have torn the party apart, causing the departure of several executives.

For its part, Laurent Bado's Party for the National Renaissance (PRN) did not obtain any seat.

In 2015 this party had two deputies and its alliance with the MPP had earned it a ministerial portfolio.

In total out of the 126 parties, political formations and independent groups, only 15 were able to obtain at least one deputy seat according to the official results proclaimed by the Constitutional Council.
