Olympic champion Sofia Goggia won the second downhill of the Val d'Isère World Cup stage on Saturday ahead of Swiss Corinne Suter and American Breezy Johnson.

Goggia was ahead of her two pursuers by 24 and 27 hundredths of a second, respectively.

The three skiers were already on the podium for the first descent on Friday.

Suter had won ahead of Goggia and Johnson.

The Italian takes advantage of her victory to join Suter at the top of the World Cup standings in the specialty.

In the general classification of the World Cup, it is the Swiss Michelle Gisin, ninth after the passage of the main competitors on Saturday, who should do the right thing and seize the second place behind the untouchable Petra Vlhova.

Sunday, the weekend in Val d'Isère will end with a super-G scheduled at 11:00 am (10:00 GMT).
