Düren (dpa / lnw) - A man was seriously injured on Autobahn 4 in an accident with his sports car.
He had run into a car with a trailer near Düren, and both cars skidded, as the fire department announced on Saturday.
They rammed the guardrail, which was severely bent.
The fire brigade spoke of a "rubble field", including car parts, broken pieces and material over a distance of around 400 meters.
The driver of the sports car was rescued from his vehicle and brought to the clinic in Aachen.
The second driver was slightly injured.
The exact cause of the accident was initially unclear.
