Munich (dpa / lby) - Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) thought of the police officers who were injured or had an accident while on duty at the Bavarian Police Orchestra's online Christmas concert.
"Today I am thinking in particular of the terrible traffic accident ten days ago on the A6 near Amberg," said Herrmann on Saturday.
Two police officers were hit by a skidding car and seriously injured during an accident on the highway.
Both died in the hospital.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, donations on the occasion of the Christmas concert go to the Bavarian Police Foundation and thus to help those affected and their families.
At the end of the year, Herrmann thanked all employees of the Bavarian Police: "You are doing a great job in containing the corona pandemic and deserve all of our respect."
