Hochfilzen (dpa) - Franziska Preuß finished sixth in the recent victory of the Norwegian Tiril Eckhoff in the Biathlon World Cup.

After two shooting errors in the pursuit race in Hochfilzen, the 26-year-old Bavarian was 49.4 seconds behind Eckhoff, who had already won the sprint and had to do a penalty loop.

"That was a solid race," said Preuss, who finished fourth over the 7.5 kilometers on Friday.

Denise Herrmann improved from 23rd to ninth place (2 penalties / 1: 13.7 minutes back).

The ex-world champion had the third best running time.

«The mail went off from the start.

I had good material, ”said the 31-year-old on ARD and, like Preuss, was optimistic about the final mass start on Sunday.
