The Swedish government wants to enable diving on the wreck of Estonia, Interior Minister Mikael Damberg said at the press conference.

Dives could, according to Damberg, be allowed by making amendments to the Tomb Act.

According to Damberg, work on the amendment has already begun and the goal is for the amendments to be recorded in the law in the first half of next year.

According to John Ahlberk, Director General of the Swedish Accident Investigation Board, the purpose of the investigations is to find out how the hole found in the side of the ship has formed.
