On February 15, Kylian will appear before the Lorient Criminal Court for aggravated manslaughter, unintentional injuries, driving without a license and without insurance, refusal to comply and not assisting a person in danger.

The 22-year-old is accused of hitting two children in Lorient in June 2019, killing the first and seriously injuring the second.

"The families hope that these officials will have the courage to come to the hearing," civil parties' lawyer, Me Philippe Courtois, told AFP, who spoke of the "relief" of the families but also the "fear of having to face those responsible for their ills ”.

The suspect's lawyer did not comment.

Arrested after ten days on the run

After nearly 10 days on the run, the young man was arrested in a hotel in Lanester on June 18, 2019 and imprisoned the same evening.
