Hochfilzen (dpa) - Norway sets the tone in the Biathlon World Cup.

One day after the men's fourfold success in the sprint, the women achieved a triple success at the World Cup in Hochfilzen.

Over the 7.5 kilometers, Tiril Eckhof won ahead of her teammates Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold and Marte Olsbu Röiseland.

The best German ski hunter in the sprint race was Franziska Preuss in fourth.

The 26-year-old Bavarian missed third place after a shooting error by five tenths of a second.

In the sprint in the previous week, she was third on the podium.

«I'm happy about fourth place.

A placement like that is hard to come by.

But it also annoys me a little because I'm 0.5 seconds past the podium.

But that's the life of an athlete, "said Preuss.

Janina Hettich from the Black Forest remained flawless at the shooting range - the only one of the six German ski hunters.

The 24-year-old achieved the World Cup norm with 13th place and her second top 15 place.

Former world champion Denise Herrmann, on the other hand, had to go into the penalty loop three times, and the 31-year-old was 23rd, 1:22 minutes behind Eckhoff.

After Vanessa Hinz (1 mistake) had missed qualifying for the pursuit as 62nd the previous week, the 28-year-old Bavarian made it into the hunting race in 26th this time.

Maren Hammerschmidt (1 mistake / 28th place) is just like Anna Weidel (1/43) in the pursuit.

In Hochfilzen, the pursuit races are on the program on Saturday, before the first mass starts of the season follow on Sunday.

In January, the biathletes will continue in Oberhof.
