The initiative, led by the Gavi Alliance and the World Health Organization, aims to deliver 1.3 billion doses of approved vaccines to nearly 92 poor and middle-income countries over the next year.

The Kovacs initiative stated that it has entered into an agreement today to purchase 170 million doses of the vaccine from AstraZeneca, and a Memorandum of Understanding to buy 500 million doses of the company, "Johnson & Johnson".
