29 individuals and seven legal entities have been added to the black list, including Speaker of the Upper House of Parliament Natalya Kochanova, Prosecutor General Andrei Shved, Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak, Head of the National State TV and Radio Company of Belarus Ivan Eismont.

Earlier, similar sanctions were imposed by the EU.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry said that they have prepared countermeasures and some of them are "quite sensitive".
