It was the gate left wide open at lunchtime that attracted the attention of the gendarmes.

Last Friday, a restaurateur from Taluyers, not far from Lyon, saw the police disembark while he was welcoming a dozen guests for the midday service, reports

Le Progrès.

An opening however prohibited at least until January 20 as part of the confinement, still in force at that time and current health measures.

For having defied the ban, the restaurateur was fined 135 euros, like all the guests present when the gendarmes arrived.

That is a total of more than 1,000 fines issued that day.

Other offenses

This is obviously not the only establishment in the Rhône not to have scrupulously respected the rules set by the government and denounced for weeks by restaurateurs from all over France, economically asphyxiated.

Last April, several people were fined after being surprised in the middle of an aperitif in a bar restaurant in Villefranche-sur-Saône, recalls the regional daily.
