• Christmas: the restrictions in each autonomy

  • Vaccine: Pfizer's vaccine will arrive guarded at 50 points in Spain from December 27

The

Valencian Community

will remain closed every Christmas without exception.

You will not be able to enter or leave.

President

Ximo Puig

announced that the perimeter closure will last until January 15 and it will not be possible to leave the autonomy except to work or due to force majeure and neither will it be possible to access any of the three provinces to visit relatives or friends .

It will only be allowed to those who are resident in autonomy, such as students or workers who develop their work outside.

This is a measure approved after the meeting of the

Interdepartmental Commission

, in which it has also been agreed that family and social gatherings are reduced to six people, both in the public and private spheres, and provided that the two groups are not exceeded of coexistence.

In addition, the night curfew is brought forward and is fixed until January 15 at 11 p.m., except on 24 and 31, which will last until midnight.

These measures, which will come into force next Monday, rectify those announced a few days ago by the Valencian Government.

"We do not create uncertainty and we apologize, but we have to adapt to the pandemic. If we don't, the consequences would be worse," warned Ximo Puig.

"The improvement trend has slowed or worsened. We are not playing how to celebrate Christmas, but the health, work and future of all Valencians. Now that the vaccine arrives we cannot fail," he added.

"I know it is painful, but in a few months they will be able to visit their family safely."

These restrictions are a consequence of the increase in positives that has been registered as of December 6.

Since last Monday, every day 2,000 new cases have been exceeded, something that had not happened in the entire pandemic, and the incidence accumulated in the last 14 days has not stopped growing.

From yesterday to today it has increased by almost 16 points, going from 239 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to 254.77 cases.

On Monday it was in 192.49 cases, which is 62 points less.

In this way, the Community is the fourth autonomous region with the highest rate, after the Balearic Islands, Madrid and the Basque Country and ahead of Castilla-La Mancha.

The national average is 207 cases.

The indicator of the positivity rate is not good either.

It is at 15.82% compared to the 14.70% with which the week started and is double the national average, which is at 8%.

The only indicator that has stabilized is hospital pressure.

There are currently 1,158 people admitted, 214 of them in the ICU.

600,000 doses of vaccines

President Puig also made public that the Valencian Community will receive 600,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine that will arrive in Spain as of December 27.

"We are prepared for its storage and we have the entire vaccination program ready," he said without specifying when it will begin.
