According to reports, the French tax authorities are investigating whether Ghosn moved his tax residence from France to the Netherlands through manual operations.

Ghosn previously claimed in his new book "The Moment of Truth" that the French authorities had learned of his new address in the Netherlands as early as 2012.

According to an information source in the taxation department, the authorities have sent a letter asking Ghosn to explain his tax situation, but have never received a reply.

The report also said that the French tax authorities had previously seized part of Ghosn’s property in France, with a total value of approximately 13 million euros, including a residence in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.

According to previous reports, Ghosn was born in Brazil in 1954 and holds passports from Brazil, France, and Lebanon.

In November 2018, Ghosn was arrested in Japan on suspicion of underreporting huge personal income and embezzling company funds for private expenses and other economic problems.

Ghosn himself denied all allegations.

In April 2019, Ghosn was arrested again.

Later, the court agreed to Ghosn's bail, but asked him not to leave Japan.

The Japanese court was originally scheduled to hear Ghosn's case in April 2020, but he fled Japan in December 2019 and arrived in Lebanon, shelling the Japanese judiciary for "unfairness".

In January 2020, Japan issued a new arrest warrant against Ghosn.

In July 2020, the French judiciary had summoned Ghosn for investigation, but Ghosn stated that he was only willing to receive relevant inquiries in Lebanon.

The French judicial department later stated that it will conduct an inquiry and investigation on Ghosn in Lebanon in January 2021.
