During a press conference, the president read out a letter from a resident of the Murmansk region, who said that there was one general practitioner in an outpatient clinic in the village.

According to him, this is "an 86-year-old grandmother who can hardly distinguish hemorrhoids from sore throats."

Putin urged to treat the work of a doctor with respect, at least for the fact that she is in her post.

“If this is true, if your grandmother has been working as a paramedic for 86 years, she is clearly a labor veteran, this means that she needs to be treated with special respect, I want to emphasize that this is how it should be,” the head of state said.

According to Gazeta.ru, the doctor herself, Tatyana Yakovleva, expressed a desire to “look into the eyes of the person” who wrote such a letter and threatened to quit.

“I really want to look this person in the eye and I want to put the statement on the table now.

I have 40 years of experience, this is rudeness.

I am of sound mind and memory.

I’m going to leave and I don’t give a damn if someone’s working here or if it’s closed.

I just don't give a damn, ”she told the publication.

According to the doctor, she has to "run between two floors" and take turns examining people in different offices.

“I have different techniques: maybe 25-30 people a day, maybe 50-odd people.

If there were people, we would have staffed Kandalaksha, Murmansk.

Nobody comes here specifically, ”she added.

At the same time, the governor of the Murmansk region, Andrei Chibis on Instagram, clarified that the woman is 66 years old, and not 86, as it was said in an appeal to the president, "and certainly this medical worker distinguishes hemorrhoids from tonsillitis."

The head of the region added that the hospital in Alakurtti has two pediatricians, a dentist and a laboratory assistant.
