Unterföhring (dpa) - The entertainment and pay TV company Sky is planning a four-part political thriller on the "Ibiza" affair.

Filming will begin in early 2021, as the company announced on Thursday in Unterföhring near Munich.

The fictional series is called "The Ibiza Affair" and tells the story of how the scandal video came about.

In May 2019, journalists from the magazine “Der Spiegel” and the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” published a video secretly shot in Ibiza. The recordings from the summer of 2017 show the then FPÖ boss Heinz-Christian Strache, who appears prone to corruption in conversation with a supposed Russian oligarch niece. After the video was published, Strache had to resign as party leader and vice chancellor, and the governing coalition of the conservative ÖVP and right-wing FPÖ broke up.
