“Rosselkhoznadzor is concerned about the emerging phytosanitary situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in connection with the detection in the products supplied to Russia of a quarantine object for the EAEU countries - brown monilious rot (Monilinia fructicola (Winter) Honey),” the department said.

As noted, the disease was discovered during quarantine phytosanitary control of pears exported to Russia.

"The fruits were imported accompanied by phytosanitary certificates issued by the National Organization for Quarantine and Plant Protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina," they specified.

Rosselkhoznadzor will discuss the current situation with the Plant Protection Department of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"In order to preserve the phytosanitary safety of the territory of Russia, the Rosselkhoznadzor reserves the right to introduce temporary restrictions," the message says.

Earlier it was reported that the Rosselkhoznadzor bans the supply of tomatoes and apples from Azerbaijan from December 10.

Later, the department clarified that since December 16, it will allow the import of tomatoes into Russia from one enterprise of the republic.
