Pforzheim (dpa / lsw) - A 53-year-old in Pforzheim attacked police officers with an iron bar weighing around 15 kilograms.
The man had rioted in his apartment on Thursday morning, according to police.
Residents then dialed the emergency number.
When the emergency services arrived at the apartment, the 53-year-old attacked them immediately.
The police officers then had to defend themselves with pepper spray.
They managed to overwhelm the man and temporarily arrest him.
According to the information, he offered considerable resistance and injured five officers.
During the subsequent transport to the office, the 53-year-old continued to attack the emergency services and kick them.
The man was taken to a mental health facility.
