Berlin (AP) - Berlin hospitals are accepting Covid 19 patients from Brandenburg this Friday.

The transports started in the morning, said the spokesman for Health Senator Dilek Kalayci (SPD) on Thursday evening when asked.

Previously, the «Tagesspiegel» reported on it.

Brandenburg Health Minister Ursula Nonnemacher (Greens) asked Berlin for help because of an impending bottleneck in hospitals.

The around 50 patients come to different clinics in the capital, said the spokesman.

These are Covid 19 patients who are treated in normal wards, not intensive care patients.

In Brandenburg, the situation is very tense, especially in the south of the country.
