A novel by Guillaume Musso, "The Young Girl and the Night", will be adapted into an English-language series by MGM studios and by France Televisions for worldwide distribution, the two groups announced Thursday.

The series will be entitled "The Reunion", just like the novel in its English translation, published in 2019, one year after the original in French by Calmann-Levy.

She "tells the story of a glamorous high school student who disappeared 25 years ago on the French Riviera, and follows three friends bound by a tragic secret", according to MGM and FranceTV.

Filming is due to begin "in 2021".

Guillaume Musso is the author who sells the most books each year in France since 2010, thanks to efficiently carried out intrigues and a lively style.

It has reached two million copies worldwide of "The Young Girl and the Night", translated into 35 languages.

It has been adapted twice on the big screen, with the French-Canadian film "Et après" in 2008 and a Korean film based on "Will you be there?"

in 2016.
