Peine (dpa / lni) - Two women were seriously injured in an attack in downtown Peine.
A 25-year-old man hit the two when they wanted to get out of a minibus, the police said on Thursday.
When the women were on the ground, the man continued to kick them heavily and severely injured their head.
The victims are the 69-year-old driver of the bus and a 65-year-old passenger who is physically disabled.
Both were taken to a hospital.
According to the police, it could not be ruled out that the women were seriously injured.
Why the man attacked the women was initially not known.
He was arrested at the scene.
Police are investigating an attempted homicide and are looking for witnesses.
