The most serious incident during the autumn was when two so-called Molotov cocktails, which are firebombs with flammable liquid, were thrown at the chapel of the Chapel Cemetery during All Saints' Day.

This is something that Sydöstran reported on.

- It is very serious, the building could have been completely destroyed.

Of course, we have reported the incident to the police, says Alf-Håkan Håkansson, who is the cemetery director in Sölvesborg parish, to SVT Nyheter Blekinge.

Taken several steps

In addition to the repeated vandalism, the congregation suffers from thefts.

- This applies to both burial sites and water posts, where ball valves are taken.

It's not fun when it happens and it is burial rights holders who suffer the most, says Alf-Håkan Håkansson.

Increased security guards have already been deployed to stop the crimes against the cemeteries.

More action is now being considered.

The hope is to get more people moving around the cemetery, to deter future crimes.
