Erfurt (dpa / th) - In a new general decree to combat the corona pandemic, the city of Erfurt prohibited all visits to hospitals on Thursday.

Exceptions could only be made for medically and ethically-socially indicated visits, announced the city.

This applies above all to visits to maternity, children's and palliative wards or hospices, if a sufficiently high level of infection protection is ensured.

Such deviating regulations could be made by the management of the respective institution.

Erfurt thus goes beyond the provisions of the nationwide Corona Containment Ordinance.

There it says that a maximum of two visitors per patient are generally allowed in hospitals every day.

The visitors must be registered and are generally allowed to see patients for a maximum of two hours.

For non-public events, especially funeral ceremonies, it is now regulated in Erfurt that no more than ten people are allowed to participate.

This applies regardless of whether they take place in closed rooms or in the open air.

For civil marriages, the total number of a maximum of five people may not be exceeded.
