The Komeito has decided on a new policy on missile prevention, including the government's statement that it will continue to consider strengthening deterrence in the other territory. I accepted the plan.

In response to this, the government will make a cabinet decision on the 18th.

At a Komeito meeting held on the afternoon of the 17th, the government proposed a cabinet decision on a new policy on missile prevention.

In the Cabinet decision, the government did not directly mention the possession of the ability to prevent ballistic missiles, etc. even within the opponent's territory, which was called the "enemy base attack capability" required by the LDP. There is no deadline for consideration, just the expression "to consider".

On the other hand, the range of domestically produced ground-to-ship guided missiles is greatly extended, and the policy is to develop it as a long-range cruise missile "stand-off missile" that can attack from outside the enemy's range.

The lawmakers who attended the meeting commented, "It does not deviate from the defense concept that has been shown so far, and the policy does not change."

In response to this, the government has already obtained approval from the Liberal Democratic Party, so as an alternative to the new interception missile system "Aegis Ashore", the government will build two new Aegis ships called "Aegis system equipped ships" Along with the policy, it will be decided by the Cabinet on the 18th.
