Of 989 people on board the M / S Estonia, 852 people were injured on 28 September 1994.

Among the many relatives, almost a hundred Swedish relatives have chosen to send an open letter to the government demanding a new investigation of the accident.

- We want answers to a number of questions.

This concerns both the holes in the hull and the question of whether Estonia may have carried a military load during the night of the sinking, says Anders Eriksson.

Requires open and public investigation

The letter states, among other things:

"We now demand of you, our elected politicians and the Swedish Accident Investigation Board, that you contribute to this enormous catastrophe being investigated again, thoroughly."

"This must be done by an outside, independent and impartial entity / organization / authority that examines all ambiguities and issues from a holistic perspective, publicly and openly."
