Athens (AP) - The winning streak of the Bundesliga basketball team in the Euroleague after the last four wins in a row is torn.

On Thursday evening, the Berliners lost to the Greek top club Panathinaikos Athens after a slump in the last quarter with 69:92 (32:39).

For Alba it was the eighth defeat in the 14th game in the premier class.

The best thrower from Berlin was captain Niels Giffey with 13 points.

Alba started the game well and scored the first two baskets in the game.

But then the Greeks woke up and put a lot of pressure on the Berliners on the defensive.

So the guests fell behind at 7:18.

Panathinaikos had advantages especially under the basket, which they now exploited.

In the second quarter, many missed throws and ball losses led to a break in the game.

But Alba fought his way back (29:31), but afterwards the chance to equalize was given several times.

For almost six minutes, the guests didn't score a single point.

After changing sides, Athens found its rhythm again.

They now hit a lot of three-point throws and ensured that the lead grew to 14 points (66:52).

Alba struggled and came back to seven points, but the hosts simply always had an answer.

In the end, the Berliners broke in.
