Berlin (dpa) - Films about Claudia Andujar, John Heartfield and Peaches can count on public funding.

The federal government wants to support seven film projects and six films with just under 1.1 million euros.

According to information on Thursday in Berlin, a jury selected the projects from a total of 46 applications.

"Burnout with John Heartfield" is being supported with 230,000 euros.

In the documentary, the director Katrin Rothe approaches the Berlin artist Heartfield (1891-1961), known for his political photo montages, with an animated collage.

A film by Heidi Specogna about the work of the Swiss-Brazilian photographer Claudia Andujar with indigenous peoples in the Amazon is funded with 165,000 euros.

Cordula Kablitz-Post and Schyda Vasseghi have made a documentary on the Berlin-based Canadian musician Peaches (“Fuck the pain away”) with “Teaches of Peaches”.

You can calculate with 150,000 euros from the federal government.
