Meppen (dpa) - FSV Zwickau succeeded in the hoped-for liberation in the 3rd football league.

After a corona-related two-week break and a negative series of six previously winless games, coach Joe Enochs' team won 2-1 (0-0) at SV Meppen on Wednesday evening.

Morris Schröter (51st minute, 68th) scored both goals for the FSV, who had to deny the final phase after a red card for Nils Miatke (85th).

The connection goal for Meppen by Jeron Al-Hazaimeh (90. + 4) came too late.

The Saxons are still on a relegation zone with 15 points after 13 games played, but the Enochs team still has three catch-up games to play.

In a first half with few high points, the ball was in the Zwickauer Tor in the 21st minute, but the hit didn't count.

Meppens Hilal El-Helwe was offside when Valdet Rama shot and blocked the view of FSV goalkeeper Johannes Brinkies.

Just before the break, Leon Jensen ensured the only conclusion of the Saxons, but the ball flew well over the goal (42nd).

After the break, the FSV took the lead.

Ronny König headed the ball back to Morris Schröter in the penalty area, who gave Meppen goalkeeper Erik Domaschke no chance with a heavy shot.

In the 68th minute, the flank player tied his brace.

This time, after a counterattack by Maximilian Wolfram, Schröter scored with a low shot to make it 2-0 for Zwickau.

Al-Hazaimeh only got Meppen to hit the next goal.
