Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - On the first day of the stricter Corona rules in Saxony-Anhalt, the state's learning platform collapsed due to high demand.

Similar to other federal states, there were difficulties in Saxony-Anhalt on Wednesday, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Education.

The reason is the high number of accesses to the server.

Experts began to maintain the systems on Wednesday and were able to fix the problem.

Since Wednesday, further closure orders have been in effect in Saxony-Anhalt and nationwide.

The compulsory attendance has been lifted for younger pupils.

Years from the 7th grade onwards should study distance learning with digital offers and tasks for home until the weekend.

The aim is that as few students as possible come to schools and meet each other.

Then the three-week Christmas holidays start.

Saxony-Anhalt is currently in the process of relocating its educational offers to the servers of an external service provider, according to a spokesman for the Ministry of Education.

As soon as the move is complete, capacities can be increased at short notice if there is high demand.

Until then, the system should be further stabilized in order to avoid further failures.

Other federal states also reported overloaded learning platforms.

The offers in Bavaria, Saarland, Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania were temporarily canceled or caused long waiting times.
