Dresden (dpa / sn) - The state of Saxony is extending the Corona aid package for young companies.

In order to offer start-ups a perspective in the second lockdown, the offer of help will be available until June 30, 2021, said the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Dresden on Wednesday.

So far, 14.6 million euros have been provided for 33 young companies from the package.

They are intended to bridge funding bottlenecks caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Saxon corona aid fund for start-ups was launched in August by the federal and state governments through the state development bank KfW from the Saxon development bank and the medium-sized investment company.

So far, 80 inquiries have been received, with the demand having recently increased significantly again with the second corona wave, the ministry said.
