The National General Councils have been busy since the start of the corona pandemic in early spring.

And some time ago, the Public Health Agency's advice was that no one over the age of 15 should be allowed to carry out organized sports and leisure activities.

Something that the city of Gothenburg followed in its facilities.

But now the Swedish Public Health Agency has given the go-ahead for all age groups again, provided that the sport is practiced as long as it is done in a way that minimizes the risk of infection.

Lights up football pitches

- We do not open changing rooms and showers, you have to come changed and ready.

You can train in small groups and we also light up football pitches to encourage you to train outdoors in the first place, says Elisabet Lann (KD), chairman of the sports and associations committee in Gothenburg to SVT Nyheter Väst.

The new councils therefore only apply to organized activities, so swimming pools, gyms and ice rinks will continue to be closed to the public.

- Our message is very clear.

It's not over, it has not eased, it's worse than ever.

So now everyone has to take responsibility.

In the clip above, Elisabet Lann explains why they allow training at the city's sports facilities despite the increased spread of infection.
