Bonn (dpa) - Cabaret artist Konrad Beikircher is, in his own words, a birthday grouch.
"I have a really disturbed relationship on birthdays," he told the German Press Agency in Bonn.
"That's stupid because I've been married to a woman for over 30 years whose family birthday is the most holy of holies."
For him it is downright a blessing that no big celebrations are currently allowed because of the corona pandemic, said Beikircher, who will be 75 on December 22nd.
So he could celebrate his birthday without discussions in the small family circle.
His aversion to birthdays is probably due to his childhood: his mother did not like birthdays and had no desire to celebrate on the occasion. "I'm also unimaginative, I can't think of anything," said Beikircher. If he's not reminded of it, he probably won't even notice his own birthday.
