The Sichuan-Tibet Military Depot's transportation formation climbed over 21 snow-capped mountains-

Winter supplies arrived at the border in snow

In early December, as the last transport vehicle from the Sichuan-Tibet Military Station of the Tibet Military Region returned to the barracks, all the materials needed for border defense on the plateau this winter have been supplied.

Since the beginning of this year, the unit has moved thousands of kilometers, pulled its troops to a plateau over 4,500 meters above sea level, and changed drill sites three times to temper the support and support capabilities of officers and soldiers.

After completing the resident training mission and returning to the camp, this batch of transport vehicles carried winter supplies such as rice, noodles, oil, canned food, etc. Starting from Chengdu, several convoys alternated to and fro the Sichuan-Tibet line, surpassing 21 snow-capped mountains above 4000 meters above sea level. The materials arrived at multiple border defense points.

Although the traffic conditions of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway have improved in recent years, due to the adverse weather on the plateau, many sections of the road are still dangerous, and the officers and soldiers dare not care.

"Jeba Mountain is the'carneck' section of the Sichuan-Tibet line. One side of the mountain protrudes and the other side is a 100-meter cliff. Crushed rocks may roll off the top of the mountain at any time. Especially when vehicles are passing, one tire is close to the edge of the cliff without guardrails. This is a great test for our psychological quality and driving skills.” said the driver Lu Peng.

It is commonplace to deal with emergencies on the Sichuan-Tibet line.

At the top of Dongda Mountain, 5130 meters above sea level, a report came from the radio about a puncture of the transport vehicle. The driver quickly pulled over and stopped, and the officers and soldiers immediately went out for repairs.

Affected by natural disasters, some road sections are being repaired.

In order to hurry, at 6 am, when the sky was still dark, the officers and soldiers set off from the camping barracks and climbed over Yela Mountain, which has an altitude difference of nearly 3,000 meters from the barracks, and passed the "Zigzag"-shaped slope section called "Tianlu 72 Daoguai". , The roads along the way were steep, and the officers and soldiers responded calmly and went through the barrier safely.

All the way over mountains and ridges, all the way up hills.

The officers and soldiers lasted more than 2 months and traveled nearly 10,000 kilometers. They finally rushed to the outpost before the onset of winter.

In recent years, the Ministry has completed transportation tasks safely with all staff and full equipment for hundreds of times.

Chen Yong, who has 16 years of driving experience, can't remember how many times he ran back and forth on this road.

"It's hard to say goodbye when driving on the Sichuan-Tibet line. The role of the plateau car soldiers is in these ruts." When he retired and returned to his hometown, Chen Yong had tears in his eyes and reluctantly gave up.
