While a first monolith was spotted in the middle of the American desert, then disappeared just as mysteriously, other metal blocks of the kind continue to appear around the world.
Some see it as an intervention of extraterrestrials, others as artistic pieces.
In any case, after the United States, Romania, the Netherlands and even France, it was in Poland that two appeared overnight.

The appearance of the two monoliths in Poland happened a few days ago.
A first triangular-shaped shiny gray metal monolith
was discovered one morning by walkers along the banks of the Vistula in the capital Warsaw.
And a second in the south of the country, near the city of Kielce.
There, it was in a nature reserve that the metal block was found, with an estimated height of between 2.5 and 3 meters.
According to the person in charge of the place, the monolith was installed either at nightfall or at dawn, but "
nobody saw anything
" because "
the place is not watched
".
The mystery therefore remains intact for these Polish monoliths, and Internet users are going about their theories: "
a publicity stunt
", according to some, "
a sign of the near apocalypse
" for others.
The person in charge of the nature reserve, for his part, relies more on "
an action by an organization which
defends the environment
".
All in any case underline the resemblance with the monolith of Stanley Kubrick's classic,
2001
: A Space Odyssey
.
A mystery that is gradually being revealed: artists claim certain obelisks
However, the mystery of their origin is gradually lifting for other places on the globe where these monoliths appeared.
The first to be spotted, and this one, completely by chance, was in
the desert of Utah
, United States in mid-November.
Then Romania followed, then again the United States with California, a detour via the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, then France.
Ultimately, the American monoliths would not be the work of extraterrestrials.
Because artists have claimed the installations, more or less clearly, depending on the location.
One of the collectives that would be at the origin of the obelisk in the Utah desert even offered on its site to buy a monolith, alongside the categories of sale of paintings and paintings.
It is a significant investment, since the sale price is 37,000 euros.
In the name of "Authentic Alien Monolith," the artwork has a four to six week delivery.
But for those interested, the object is unfortunately already sold.
Not so complicated to make one at home
There remains one solution: make your own monolith, in
particular using the techniques detailed by the
New York Times
.
According to the experts interviewed, it is not that difficult to manufacture, even if the American daily maintains that "
it is not a reason to try
".
Because we must not forget that installing metal obelisks in these public places - whether in the desert of Utah or on the banks of the Vistula in Warsaw -, without authorization, is not legal.
Whether it's from aliens or humans.
