The South Korean government has held a disciplinary committee against the prosecutor-in-chief, who is in deep conflict with the Moon Jae-in administration, and has decided to discipline him for two months.

It is the first disciplinary action against the incumbent prosecutor-general in South Korea, and it is expected that President Mun will soon execute it.

In South Korea, the confrontation between the prosecutor's top prosecutor, Yun Seo-gyeol, who has commanded the investigation into the allegations over the Moon Jae-in administration, and the Minister of Justice, Ju Mi-e, who was entrusted with the prosecution reform by President Moon, deepened, and the Minister of Justice said last month. We have filed a disciplinary action against Prosecutor Yun for reasons such as obstruction of inspection.



In response to this, the Korean Ministry of Justice held a second disciplinary committee privately from the morning of the 15th to around 4 am on the 16th, and as a result of the decision by the disciplinary committee, the prosecutor Yun was suspended for two months. I decided to dispose of it.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor Yun has filed a complaint that the disciplinary committee, which consists of members appointed by Minister of Justice Chu, is unconstitutional, and is poised to engage in a legal battle with dissatisfaction with the disciplinary action.



President Mun wants to hurry to realize the prosecution reform, which is a priority issue, while the approval rating is at the lowest 30% level since he took office, but it is unclear whether the turmoil in national affairs will be settled.
