The General Secretariat of the Arab Journalism Award, represented by the "Dubai Press Club", revealed the names of the nominees to be honored in its 19th session from various parts of the Arab world and beyond, in addition to the press institutions nominated in the category of "smart journalism", where the winners will be honored on December 23. Al-Muqbil, in an exceptional ceremony held remotely, in compliance with the internationally recommended precautionary measures in the face of the emerging Corona virus, and with the participation of leaders of media work in the region, including Arab and international press institutions, and Arab media workers working in different regions of the world.

The award's director, Maitha Buhumaid, said: “The award’s general secretariat continues to work to enhance the prestige that the award has attained, among the most important platforms for journalistic honoring in the world, and in light of the main objectives on which the award was founded, since its launch in 1999, thanks to the rigorous approach. Which was set for the award, and the professional manner in which the judging processes are carried out according to a set of precise professional standards, which gave the award the trust and respect of workers in the field of journalism in the various parts of the Arab region, as well as Arab press institutions operating from outside the region as the most important forum to celebrate the owners of creative thought and production Creative in the field of Arab journalism ».

The list, announced by the General Secretariat of the award, included the top three candidates for each category of the award, including the institutions nominated for the smart journalism category, which are: the UAE newspaper, Emirates Today, the Emirati “Vision” newspaper, and “The Seventh Day” newspaper. Egyptian.

The list also included candidates in the Arab Journalism category for young people, and they are: Sarah Salah from the Egyptian newspaper "Al-Watan", Shrouk Muhammad from the "Masrawy" website, Abdel Samad Adneden from the Moroccan newspaper, "Bayan Al-Youm", and Samar Saleh from the Egyptian newspaper, "Al-Watan", and so on. Salah El-Din from the “Masrawy” website, and Ahmed Atef from the Egyptian newspaper, Al-Dustour.

The nominations in the investigative journalism category included Salama Al Ketbi from the Emirati newspaper, Al-Ru'ya, Muhammad Asaad from the Egyptian newspaper, “Sawt Al-Ummah,” and Jamal Jawhar from “Al-Sharq Al-Awsat” newspaper.

As for the journalistic dialogue category, her nominations included: a press interview conducted by Daniah Al-Shamaa from the Emirati newspaper, Al-Ru'ya, another dialogue presented by Maha Adel from the Emirati newspaper, Al-Khaleej, and a third dialogue nominated by Mohamed Mansour from the Emirati newspaper, Al-Ru'ya.

The nominations in the category of political journalism also included a topic nominated by writer Taha Haseeb from the Emirati newspaper, Al-Ittihad, a topic that was nominated by Muhammad Subuh from the Saudi electronic newspaper, “Sabq,” and a topic for writer Muhammad Amin Al-Masri from the Egyptian newspaper, Al-Ahram.

In the category of economic journalism, the nominations included a topic that was nominated by Rami Samih from the Emirati newspaper, Al Bayan, a topic that was nominated by Azad Aisho from “Emirates Today,” and a topic nominated by the team of the Emirati Al Khaleej newspaper.

In the sports journalism category, the nominations included a topic submitted by journalists Abdullah Al-Tunaiji and Reda Salim from the Emirati newspaper, Al-Ittihad, and another work nominated by Muhammad Awad, Muhammad Fayette and Musa Ali from the Emirati newspaper, “Al-Vision,” in addition to a topic that was nominated by journalist Moataz Al-Shami From the Emirati newspaper, Al-Ittihad.

The nominations for the cultural journalism category included a topic for each of: Muhammad Abdul-Maqsoud, Munawara Ajiz and Salma Al-Alam from the Emirati newspaper Al-Ru'ya, a work nominated by Ahmed Atef from the Egyptian newspaper, Al-Watan, and a topic titled “Naguib Mahfouz .. The Strict Censor”, in which he participated Tariq Al-Taher from the Egyptian magazine “Akhbar Al-Adab”

For the best photojournalism category, the works of each were nominated: photographer Suhaib Jadallah from the "Reuters" news agency, photographer Ghaith Al-Sayed from the "Cham Press" agency, and photographer Saber Noureddine from the European Press Photo Agency (EPA).
