The case came in at 02:45 on Tuesday night.

A resident just outside Älvsbyn heard noises out in the yard and when the plaintiff went out he was met by a man who acted aggressively and threateningly.

- The man then jumped into the plaintiff's car but did not start it.

Then he ran off to another car that was waiting, says Casey Causevic, RLC officer at the police command center.

"Drove right into the roundabout"

The plaintiff gave good information on the vehicle and police patrols were ordered to the scene.

Pretty soon one of them saw the car in central Älvsbyn and started a chase.

- But the "jagisen" did not even have time to start.

They drove off the road, or rather right into a roundabout, says Causevic.

Three people were sitting in the car and all were identified and heard at the scene.

No one was arrested or injured and the criminal classification is an attempt to seize means of subsistence.

Thieves in Haparanda

Otherwise, it has been a relatively quiet night in Norrbotten, but an event in Haparanda municipality stands out.

A hostel was greeted by a woman who eagerly picked up a lot of goods.

- The woman left in a car and after a good cooperation between the owner of the hostel and the police patrol, the vehicle was located just south of Kalix, Causevic says.

A woman in her 40s and a man in his 50s are now suspected of theft.

The goods are again in the right hands and the persons have been notified of the criminal suspicion.

Neither the woman nor the man was detained.
