Among the following chronic diseases: "Asthma, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, chronic heart disease, including coronary artery disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and those with a history of a previous stroke."

She added that the target group in the second stage are citizens and residents who are over 50 years old, the rest of health practitioners, and those who have one of the following chronic diseases: «asthma, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, chronic heart diseases including coronary artery disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer. Active », and those who have obesity and have a body mass of between 30-40, while the category in the third stage targets all citizens and residents who wish to receive the vaccine.

The Ministry pointed out that this step comes as a continuation of the blessed efforts and proactive steps that the Kingdom has taken since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, and it had a clear role in addressing this pandemic and preserving the health and safety of citizens and residents, and the Kingdom had previously announced that it would be one of the first countries to receive vaccines. It meets the safety and efficacy standards directly from the world's leading vaccine manufacturers and via the Kovacs international facility.

In the Sultanate of Oman, the Ministry of Health issued yesterday a license to import the "Pfizer-Biontech" vaccine for emergency use to prevent the virus for the age group of 16 years and over, after the General Directorate of Pharmacy and Drug Control evaluated the efficacy and safety studies and reached a conclusion that the known benefits The potential for the vaccine exceeds its expected risks, after it has been approved by the health authorities in the United Kingdom and Canada and the US Food and Drug Administration.

The ministry indicated that the vaccine will be given in two doses, with an interval of three weeks, noting that the presented studies included the safety data available in the clinical studies that were conducted on about 38,000 participants who were followed up and the side effects of the vaccine were monitored for two months after receiving the second dose.

In addition, the Food and Drug Administration in Jordan granted an emergency license to use the "Pfizer-Biontech" vaccine to combat the spread of the "Covid-19" epidemic, and the Foundation's Director General, Nizar Muhaidat, announced that a study is currently underway to authorize the use of two other vaccines for two vaccine companies.

Earlier this month, the Jordanian Ministry of Health announced that it had signed an agreement with "Pfizer-Biontech" to supply the new vaccine against the Coronavirus, and with "Kovacs", a mechanism developed by the World Health Organization that aims to facilitate countries' access to a vaccine against the virus.

It also indicated contacts with "AstraZeneca" and "Johnson & Johnson."

The health authorities expected the doses of the "Pfizer" vaccine to arrive in Jordan by next February.

Jordan has so far recorded 262,477 confirmed cases of the virus and 3,407 deaths.

While the European Union is still conducting an evaluation process for the "Pfizer-Biontech" vaccine, several countries, led by Britain, the United States, Canada, Singapore and Bahrain, have begun to vaccinate their citizens.

Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok announced that his country has received 8.4 million doses of vaccine against the "Covid-19" epidemic, which will be allocated to immunize the sectors most vulnerable to the disease, especially the medical sector.

Hamdok said during a press conference in Khartoum: "We have obtained 8.4 million units of immunization against Covid-19 for the most vulnerable sectors, especially the medical sector, and we are seeking to obtain units to vaccinate all Sudanese."

Sudan, whose population exceeds 40 million, has counted 21591 people infected with the new Corona virus, of whom 1,335 people have died, while 12,452 have recovered.

In a related context, the European Medicines Control Authority announced in Amsterdam yesterday that it will present its report regarding the authorization of the Corona vaccine produced by the company, "Pfizer - Biontech", next Monday, that is, eight days before the date that was previously scheduled.

The approval of the authority on the vaccine has become confirmed, and after that the European Commission must give its official approval to the vaccine, which is a formality and can take place within a day, so that the way is clear for taking mass vaccinations against Corona in all European Union countries.

The authority affirmed that there will be no compromises in safety standards, pointing out that approval of placing on the market ensures that the "Covid-19" vaccines meet the same high standards of the European Union applied to all vaccines and drugs.
